Logline
Set in 1964, nine-year-old River eagerly welcomes her mother home after months in a state hospital. As her family grapples with the aftermath of a devastating injustice inflicted during her mother's confinement, River turns to imagination, faith, and love to comfort the person she loves most. Inspired by true events, the film explores resilience, generational healing, and hope through the eyes of a child.
RIVER is also part of the anthology feature, THROUGH THE BLINDS, as a short proof of concept. This anthology feature follows the lives of different women over the decades from 1950s to 2010s.
