Logline
When Venus, a Black violinist, joins her wife at a remote family estate, unsettling visions collapse past and present. As the house tightens its grip, she is drawn into a buried history that begins to fracture her marriage and unravel her sense of self.
The Inheritance is a haunting examination of intimacy, generational trauma, and the emotional weight we carry from what came before. Created as part of the AFI Directing Workshop for Women+ (DWW+), the film explores how history, love, and fear intertwine in ways both visible and invisible.
